I am trying to get my Warn 16. 5 winch in my Road Armor Bumper.
I turned the engage switch. But I can not figure out where to put the box that the control plugs into. It's a very tight fit. I made a bracket but that turn out to be to thick. Can anyone help?
I got it in. Not the easiest thing I ever did. Had to turn the motor on the winch too. Had to extend the wires form the control box to the motor. Drilled and taped the bumper and mounted the control box on the bumper. Will have pictures in a week or so.
Just so you know, if you haven't opened it yet, send your MM E-12000 back where it came from. I have one and it is the biggest POS ever made... made in China.
Please, please do yourself a favor and send it back.
Too late... I wish it came with "some" type of useful instructions. I torqued the bolts a bit too tight. Using a 3/8" wrench, I easily snapped one of the mounting bolts. I spent a good part of the day drilling it out. Also, even though everything seems to be lined up properly, the clutch is pretty difficult to engage / disengage. I need to try to re-align it, but I'm going to wait until after I rotate the end of the winch so the clutch is on top instead of behind it.
After that, I need to try to find room to mount the box containing the solenoids. It doesn't fit anywhere on the winch due to clearances. I think I'm probably going to purchase some 1gauge wire and move it up near the passenger side battery under the hood. Any other suggestions are welcome.
