I fabricated one similar to the one on the AF 6096 International when I towed a 32' Alpenlite 5er. It gave me 1-1 1/2 mpg better. I loved it. Hence, I have downsized to a Titanium 5er. They are very areodynamic and a deflector is not needed. Don

I have heard it takes a lot of fuel savings to pay for the wing, but I have never used one. I also have own a Titanium

The Titaniums looked pretty crazy when I first saw them, but it is a practical idea.

We traveled from Los Angeles to New York, to Wisconsin and back home for roughly 6k miles. I constructed the frame from 1 1/2 " exhaust pipe, wire mesh for strength, A and B from foam insulation, and fiberglass resin for a top coat, hen mounted it with straps. I had about $250 - $300 in it so I saved quite a bit. Don
