Several weeks ago I went up north and it was a windy day. At 65-70 mph I hear this loud whiney noise that sounds like it's coming from the area of the roof or where the roof meets the windshield. Sounds a little like a Peterbuilt going by you with his airhorn stuck- on blowing your doors off. Several times since then I've been able to duplicate it if I drive 75-80 mph Anybody had this happen and know what's causing it? I hope it's not that the roof sheet metal is too thin! Thanks, Bill.

My 99 has it to, only real faint with the wind and speed just right to make it whistle. It sounds like its at the center of the windshield, but I can't drive at 70+ and look for it when its making the sound. If you have any luck finding it let me know maybe one of us will get lucky.

Hiya guys... . I'm new so I hope this reply works out. :p

I was having the same noise in my 2001 around 75-80. When I ended up tracking it down I found that it is my door up by the windshield. I'm assuming the door is mounted wrong and won't allow it to shut tight at the top. Does anyone have that, and know and easy fix?

Also... this is a great site, I have gotten the magazine for about a year or so, and have found that you guys are more informative then any dealer that I have been to. :)

I have it too. But I don't have it unless all of the cab air vents are off (heat, vent, a/c). With any air moving in the system, the noise is gone. The cab pressure released by the fresh air system must eliminate the whistle.
