More adventures at the DMV!

Believe it or Not!!!!!

The last 2 months here have been some of the baddest wind I can remember.

Last night, I was sure the old barn was going to take a nose dive, I have no idea why it is still standing.

Monsoon, hurricane, cyclone come to mind.

Is the whole country getting nailed this year?

Gene:eek:

We had and are still having lots of strong winds. Last night we got hit with some especially strong blasts that blew down lots of trees and knocked out traffic signals. Then came the freezing rain and light snow that made all the roads into skating rinks.

I'm glad today that I had some new windows put in the upstairs. It's nice and cozy here at the computer :)

It's March, the windy month. Too bad it's so darn cold.

Don't let the barn blow away, Gene. I haven't been down yet to see what ya got! When's the next party at your place?

All

We have the farmers scratching around about this time, lots of it! Then get 50-60 mph winds. Dirt storm time! Last week we got two days of dirt! Visability of less than a quarter of a mile. I came home with enough dirt in my ears to start a potato farm!

Windy here too, at the jersey shore. Mild temps though.

I pulled the truck out from under the tent I park it in last night. I thought for sure that the wind would have blew it down.

I've had that happen more than once. I have too many scratches, and small dents on the truck from that. :(

Might need the woodstove tonight. :)

What I read in Farmer-Stockman is that if it wasn't for soil conservation type farming that the weather of the past couple of years, dry and windy, would put the dust bowl to shame in most of the northern plains. We finally got our first decent snow of the year this week in Montana.

I've been cussin' the wind down here for at least a month or longer. I work outside, so I have to put up with it all day. What makes it worse is it's been windy and cold (well, it's cold to me). Hate the wind. Seen enough of it in my life. To bad when it's 105 and 70% humidity, there's hardly any wind.

Heck yeah, its been windy! I came out yesterday morning to go to a funeral and found a huge limb had fallen neatly between my Ram, the wife's Dakota, and the daughter's Ranger. The "branchy" end had been rubbing against my roof, windshield, hood, and fender. I had to hook onto the limb with my old Chevy to pull it out of the way and out into the yard. I washed the Ram today- luckily, it just had some minor scratches in the clear coat.

With our wind (paper reported 121 miles per hour out on cape blanco--five miles from us a month ago), we get LOTS of horizontal rain! From the storm a few days ago, we have a 2 foot by 2 foot hole in the shop roof from a large branch and repair will have to wait for a dry day--hopefully with not enough wind to blow me off the roof. Shop has 16' eves so the drop would be uninviting. For now it seems its one storm after another comming in off the Pacific.

Down here on teh gulf coast it could blow the bits out of a horses mouth. It was tough teh other day pulling trailers to the rv show too. Coming out of the North. When the show is over in a week it will prolly be from the south so will have a headwind again.
