The drivers side window is getting really slow, and I suspect that the motor brushes need replacing. Anyone know of a source for OEM brushes or an aftermarket brush that will work.

Thanks for any help.

If it's anything like the window motors in my '91-'95 Caravans you can forget replacing the brushes. Non serviceable. And I know that after having taken one apart.

Thanks for the replies, but I think I solved my own problem. The problem with the brushes was that as they wore, the brush lead in the holder eventually prevented contact with the commutator. Although our hardware store had a good selection of electric motor brushes they all had the lead coming out the end instead of the side. Almost by accident I found that a friend was putting brushes in his alternator and that the leads were on the side. The were larger in all dimensions than what I needed but a few minutes with some fairly fine emery paper solved that. They are quite soft.

Clean the commutator and grease the shaft and now it works great.

Part that I used NAPA E601SB There well may be others. Hope this helps someone out there
