Does anyone else have a problem with their Tint getting scratched due to the NON-Felt lined interior window strips at the bottom of the glass. Any help or solutions would be a big help.

Mine does that too. It is only on the drivers side. I have a reg. cab with manual windows. I have not taken it into the dealer yet. Any ideas as to what is causing it?

Me too

My tint looks bad already from all the scratches. If ya'll can get the dealer to fix this let me know.

I'm not an expert on window tint but I was under the impression that factory tint was part of and inside the glass, am I wrong? This sounds like something that would happen to an aftermarket glue on film.

We are talking about window film. However, it should not be scratching it. Maybe it is only happpening to silver trucks ha. . ha. . ha! Mine is silver too. I have also heard of Mercedes doing that too. It could be a design of Daimler.

Mine too. Noticed it today for the first time. I'll have to look into developing some sort of fix because I doubt the dealer will do anything about it.

Mine has 3 lines on the pass side only. Wonder if its inside the door (a long screw or ??). Didnt notice this till I read about it. Doesnt look like its the strip on the door causing mine tho. Need to investigate further.

Does anybody think that some good quality felt or velvet and some 3M spray adhesive to the glass side of the window strip would help. I know for a fact that it is the window strips because when you take them out the glass dosen't make a sound. Oh yeah, I just looked at my neighbors truck 03 like mine and his strips do in fact have the felt lining. I have even tried to find a junked 02 1500 just for the strips! My strips were replaced and it made no difference without the felt being on thier, this is another way to save money for DC. Kinda weird since everything else around the glass has lining on it.

Makes sense. My wife had an 02 1500, and the tint was still perfect after a year. On mine the scratches showed up after a week.

I guess we need to find a fix and retint the windows. :(

My tint is ALL scratched also. Must be the silver! :D

What are the build dates? Mine was built 05-06-03 and has a thin layer of felt, but not enuff to prevent `dirt' from "clinging" to it and not making trails on the film.

I really think mine (scratches) are from inside the door as the felt is clean/clear of debris.
