windows xp??? monitor refresh rate changing on its own??

well, my main pc is on 99% of the time, but the monitor gets shut off from time to time or just left in stand by. problem i am having is the refresh rate is changing from the 72hz i normally run it at to 60hz on its own. it never did this on my old pc [running at 1600x1200 @ 72hz], but it does it pretty regularly on this new one [running at 1600x1200 @ 72hz].



anyone here have an idea where to look, or any way i can lock it at 72hz and disable the 60hz option in the display setup menu??? or is it hardware related?



or do i just live with it for now??
