Ok my windshield bottle has developed a leak that takes her down to almost empty in about an hour. You can see the leak as it appears to be where the bottle rests next to the front of the truck (looking from the top - the right edge). Has anybody else experienced this? I can't take it off till I get a new TSTAT - and then I'll see what is causing the hole. It appears as though the vhing just vibrated and wore a hole... .

Is this the windshield bottle or the radiator overflow? What does the winshield bottle have to do with the TSTAT?

The overflow bottle on my 96 had a hole in it. It wore through from vibration when it was hung incorrectly on the bottom mount. I cleaned it up, siliconed and it worked great everafter.

You can't remove the Windshield bottle

without taking the top radiator hose off. I need to change coolant and T Stat - so I'm waiting till Friday to do that. That way I don't waste the effort of taking the top hose off.

Actually, there is just enough room to get the windshield washer reservoir out without removing the upper radiator hose.

I pulled my out when it developed a leak along the seam above the level sending unit and the pump.

You can pull the hose forward just enough, then move the reservoir back towards the injector pump and come up. Take the sending unit and pump out, then there won't be anything get hung up on.

I would be willing to bet if the windshield washer container is leaking that severely it is stemming from where the motor is mounted... i. e. , pushed into a bore, sealed with an O-ring (if memory serves) into the lower portion of the container. The motor and bottom of the container can be seen from below.

If it is not the motor leaking like John stated Then Use a soldering iron and a piece of plastic that you prolly have hanging arround and MELD the hole closed.
