Howdy! Well, I attempted an install of a windshield quad pod, I believe manu'd by gaugeworks. Anyone have any experience with this? Got my Mag-Hytec covers, fast cooler and TC all gauged up and stuck it to the windshield using the pathetic little 1" Velco pads that came with it. 20 minutes later my beautiful Isspros were dangling by the wires! The screams were incredible!

Geno's offered to swap out, but I need the four gauges. Already have two on the steering column. I've played with epoxy, etc. but I'm still fighting the darned thing. Short of pitching it in the dumpster, anyone have any suggestions? Thanks a million.

I used a 6" strip of scotch-loc by 3M. I also trimmed the back of the pod some for a tighter fit for the flat surface against the windsheild. I just replaced the gauges a couple of weeks ago and had to pull with both feet against the windsheild. :-laf Just kidding, but this stuff is tuff. Don't stick it to the window tint..... been there done that!... ... ... . bp

Hello Matt400,

I saw your setup a couple of days ago - looks pretty squared away to me. How is the computer and plastic trim attached? I'm used to my ol' '99 where the whole thing slid forward/backward to install/remove. The sticky stuff sure seems like the easy route, but with huge temp fluctuations (SW AZ) I just can't see it holding.

FYI, the stinkin' thing fell off the windshield again today on my way home from work. I go on vacation starting Thu, I intend to mirror your installation. Despite some positive comments, I still can't believe this thing shipped with two 1" squares of "Velcro". And I find it extremely hard to believe anyone has kept this arrangement stuck to their glass for any extended period of time.

Thanks a million for your help!

HELLO

Wal-mart 2 inch wide velcro all the way across thats what holds mine.

Ditto. I had the same problems and I tried just about everyting that I could find.

2" industial strength velro has been holding for the longest of anything yet.

If your 06 is like my 05, you need to pop out the map light lenses.

I used a small flat blade screw driver along the side of the lenses to push it over to one side just enough to slide off the plastic pin it pivots on.

Under the lenses are two #20 torx screws that hold the OEM overhead pod up there. Remove those and pull it down.

Once thats off its much more easy to set up your gauge pod.

Thanks for all your help Matt400! I pretty much followed your example with a couple of small differences. It fits tight against the windshield and headliner and looks fantastic! No rattling, flexing or worries of falling off. While I appreciate the suggestions for the sticky stuff I wouldn't mount a quad-pod any other way. Outstanding idea!!

BTW, in case anyone is interested, I just returned from a 1400 mile trip and saw the following average temperatures. They varied with speed, load and outside temp, but look about like this:

Front Axle: 135 (unlocked)

6-Speed Trans: 160

Transfer Case: 140

Rear Axle: 175
