Windshield washer light comes on dash?

Washer bottle is full and works. But the light for low washer bottle comes on after starting truck.

Opinions and advice??

It is a Ram 3500 4x4 4 door short bed 6.7 diesel/auto.

Do you use Rain X fluid? There was a TSB (or something) a while back where they explained that an ingredient in Rain X fluid affected the sensor and prevented it from working.

During the summer just dish washing soap and water - perfect.

You might need a new sensor.

No need for a new sensor. Drain the bottle or just pop the sensor out. You get a bath either way. Use brake clean on the sensor, rinse the tank to get the remaining Rain X out, and refill. On the 2018 the sensor is easy to reach from the underside...

I’ve been using the cheap -30 stuff from Fleet Farm/L&M for almost 30 years with no problems. No problems, that is, until I bought my ‘14. I’m on my third sensor and have never used the RainX stuff. I tried cleaning the first two with no success.

That green bug scrubbing stuff does it, too.

I used a baby bottle brush taped to a long rod to "scrub" the sensor from the filler hole. Works like a charm and only takes a minute.

It will take out the pump as well.
