Can anyone tell me of typical problems with the windshield wipers on 93 D350's ? Wiper switch or wiper motor ? Mine do not work on intermittent, but work fine on slow and fast speeds. When you turn the wipers off from any speed the stop in whatever position they are in without returning to the rest position.

Thanks !

Hi Jon,

I really suck at electrical but that sounds like the switch to me... in fact I had a similar problem with mine when the truck was under warranty.

The one thing that led the dealer to the switch was the occasional "bacon frying" sound if you held your tongue just right... .

The new switch fixed my problem...

On the other hand we got some snappy electrical guys here..... HEY... YOU GUYS WAKE UP>>>>!!!!!!

I'm sort of leaning toward the switch myself. The wipers are quiet during operation. On my Ford, the wiper motor was a problem and it was really noisy during operation.

There is a set of contacts inside the wiper motor that determine where the wipers stop (park) when the switch is turned off. The on/off switch bypasses these contacts when in the on position and the wipers run, sounds like the contacts to me. bg

Yes. The wiper motors on all my buses have a switch like thingybob inside that overrides the switch and parks the arm in it's proper spot.

Was looking at a used 92 the other day. Same deal, wipers would not park or work on intmt. Just happend to be looking aroud under the dash and noticed a ribbon cable unplugged. Plugged it in and the wippers worked at advertised.

The cable plugged in just under the dash just to the passanger side of the steering colum.
