drove past a diesel today that had a set, almost wrecked trying to get a good look ... these were chrome or polished ss ... i'd settle for black plastic as long as they're reasonable ... any info would be appreciated

winter fronts

Look in the classified under basement enterprises, Eric Buckel sells them for $30 for a 4 piece set made out of plastic material bolt on and off in no time.

:D

I've done some testing with various types of winter fronts and have found they make little difference, plenty of air gets in from underneath.

Removing the fan for the winter has a bigger effect and is free.

Fanless and a winter front and now you're cookin'

I was talking to the parts man at a dodge/ford dealer. He can get some that when you remove the winter front there is a bug screen that is permanently. for $100 I am thinking about it.

I've been using Eric's Winter fronts for the last 3 years.

I'm getting ready to re-install them next week.

As for the bug screen, I took regular screen material I purchased for Home depot for about $4. 00 attatched it to the inside of my grill opening and it's been doing the job for the past 4 years.

Hey thanks for the good reviews Guys.

Starting to sell them good right now. My setup also doesn't leave any tell tale evidence when they are off during the summer. A nut and bolt through the honeycomb secures it (2 per panel)

Winter fronts

Just another thumbs up for Eric's winter fronts. Almost that time of year again.

Thanks Eric.

The fan is off for the winter here, too.

My set of Eric's cold fronts will go on once the temps stay down in the freezing zone. Be the third winter on them. Worth every nickel.

BTW, if you have a bug shield screwed to the grill you will probably have to trim the top cold fronts. Really easy to trim plastic.

thanks for all the replies, looks like i'll be talkin' to eric, if he's open on saturday ... trans started jumpin' around in second yesterday ... tried gov sensor ... nada ... . gonna try governor mon or tues
