i live in pittsburgh PA. if i would put winter guards on my grill with no holes would i be blocking to much air? do i need them? or can i put some nice polished stainless ones on for looks in the winter?

I have been running them with no holes for a couple of weeks, its been pretty cold here lately and have seen no ill effects yet, it does help keep the rad. temp. up but have not noticed the fan running as the thermostat opens the temp drops down enough to keep it from engageing which is good. I think they will work out ok

Ecarney,

I am the one that makes the winter gille guard on the product forum. I also have an ad in the classified section under miscellaneous. My address and everything is there.

E-mail me if youd like to get a set. I have had mine on for a couple of months now. it helps get the radiator warmer, faster by blocking the cold air. air still gets through but only from the bumper holes.

I just got and installed a set of solid stainless ones from Cloud Rider. So far so good-it's not horribly cold here yet but every little bit helps. I left the slotted summer ones in the bumper to let some air through to the intercooler-don't anticipate a problem as my trailer pulling is done in the summer. I'll keep an eye on the EGT just the same-but so far no excessive temps... .

The stainless ones aren't real cheap though-if you don't want the shine (or care 1 way or the other about the looks) Eric's will do the same job for quite a bit less $$$. I'm a slave to the shine though :D so I ponied up for the Cloud Riders.
