I would love to keep my nice new truck shiny and white, but road grime is giving me problems . The white side molding is really taking a beating and I can't seem to get it clean. Anyone know of a product that cleans off the road grime, doesn't effect the clearcoat finish, and protects the side molding?

I don't know where you are, but might I recommend taking your truck to a "Big Truck" truck wash.

I take mine to a Blue Beacon up the road from the house. They get everything off, road grime does not stand a chance. I figured that all of the guys working there have some of the cleanest cars around, it would not hurt to take them my Dodge. Darn thing looks factory fresh when they finish. I even take the wife's jeep there (and my semi). It costs me anywhere from $12-16. 00, depending on who is working. I drop more then that at the quarter wash, and I have to do all of the work, and it still looks dirty. Takes those guys all of 15 minutes at the truck wash, well worth it. Drive it home and wax it.

(I'm a lazy truck driver, I use their wax):D

It is important to use a presoak ( I believe the "Streakin Beacon" does) I use the presoak then I use the high pressure soap. It is important to get as much of this "gritty" road grime off before brush washing or hand washing to help prevent clearcoat scratching. It does make a difference.
