On Monday I got to test some of the Winter features of my Ram since I encountered snowy weather in Western Montana. I got to experience the Snow in Seat feature which I was impressed with. It works perfectly . . . open door, snow flies right in and lands on middle of nice leather driver's seat

The next feature was how well the door moldings and weatherstrip keep the grime and sand thrown all over the road out of the door jamb and sill area. Well, it doesn't. There was a ton of crud splashed all over in there and lots packed underneath and between the folds of the lower door seal when I got home. Quite a bit more intrusion all around the doors than on the 2001.

On the positive side the truck performed great on its first real road trip. I cruised at 80 a lot and sometimes faster. I don't think I've been anyplace where I set the cruise to 80 and have people blow by me like I'm standing still. I drove 90 for a long ways (15 miles) with a couple PowerStrokes. Amazingly I still turned right at 19mpg after hardly driving slower than 75 on the entire tank. I hit 4000 miles on my rig just before getting home. And it's nice to leave snowy 30s of Montana behind for 60s & 70s of eastern Wash. :)

Those are my only 2 real ******* about this truck maby the trip computer going blank but thats only happened 1 time. I bet those power strokes you followed didnt get 19 mpg, what alot of the powerstrokers on dieselstop.com are saying 12 to 13 some claim more but i dont belive them because alot of there diesel goes in there oil pans(leaking injectors). I feel lucky to only hafto wipe the snow off the top of the door before i open it, and wash the crap out of the door jams. :D

Yeah I agree Steve, I'm happy to only have a couple minor complaints. This Cummins is running awesome! :D The two I paced were the 7. 3L variety but they were darn near running up against the governor. I didn't let 'em get away without a little teasing. . . I hammered it and blew by one guy at 105 :) Speaking of going fast I found mine is limited to 108 with the 3. 54 gears. Got more RPM left but 108 is the limit.

With all the pollen this year I have enjoyed the regularly scheduled dusting of my seat. It aint perfect, but I love it anyways.

They Aren,t Perfect

But DAMN close:D At 105 mine is maxed out rpm 3200 I have the 373 gears. The dodge doesnt fool around getting there either. Sure glad i got this truck at 46 instead of 16. I still like to stick my foot in it once in a while. :D

YUP,

i checked with a gps... 107

wen ramping with od off i can hit 3500 rpm

but other wise 3000 bummer

ez did not help top end but ooohhh what a felling

0-100Oo.

Hey Guy you gotta get a comp box!

I had the same trouble with my 01 and now with the comp I run out of RPM ( that I want to see on the tach )before I run out of top end.

Trust me on this :D  :--)
