Had something simular on my '89 Ford, but the heating element was part of the arm, not the rubber blade. Worked great at keeping the arm and blade from freezing up.

Genos used to sell that type of blade and people thought they worked pretty well. Me, I use just plain winter blades for my winter driving. This will be the third winter I have them on my truck!

I have had the same blades for 3 or 4 years, work great, I will not run the old metal frame wirper again, if I can get away with it.

I installed those ICON's on my mega cab when I first got it... best thing about them IMO is they don't hop/skip/jump across the windshield at high speeds. I usually average ~85mph

These are by FAR the best wipers I've ever had. I've used them for the past 3 years and I'm still on my second set. They're the only blades I've had that don't freeze up, always wipe clean and even at 80+mph the wind doesn't get under them and they stick to the window. In my area they're available at most parts places for about $20/blade but well worth the money.

Bosch ICON Wiper Blade - OE Bracketless Technology for the Aftermarket

I agree with the Icons. Have them on my truck and my wifes van and they have lasted longer then and worked better than any other blade I have tried. Plus they don't lift at higway speed.

The bracketless type are the greatest thing since sliced bread. They don't get clogged with snow and ice as easily. I drive in crappy snowy weather for 6 months of the year and I wouldn't have anything else on the truck. Try Wally's and or Cosco as there cheaper and a good blade.

This will be my first winter with the ICONs. So far Im happy with them. They got rid of that darn low spot right in front of the driver that I think all Dodges have (real annoying) I did have slush built up on them last week which I wasnt happy about; we'll see how they do...

I'm on my second set of icons. my first set lasted 2 years before they started streaking. i just replaced mine about a month ago. I was driving through a storm back home in NH and the drivers blade froze up so i reached out to snap it and the damn thing shattered. The auto store didn't have any bosch so now i have a rain-x and an icon.

Just purchased a set of heated wiper blades off of ebay, they are the frameless style similar to the Bosh ICON blades. Ill test them out as soon as i get them.

I run the Rain-X Latitude blades on my truck for the last couple of years out here in PA and like them alot. They do not build up with ice or snow and wipe evenly across the windshield during the rain. They are the best blades I have put on my vehicles in a while... ... Andy

I agree with those that like the ICONs from Bosch. I'm on my second set.

I've used the heated blades from Genos for 3 or 4 years but my main complaint about all these heated blades is they heat the rubber insert, not the frame. The frame gets wet then freezes and stops it from flexing as it swipes the glass.

But the ICON style eliminates that, mostly (mine have done it a bit). I think the best design is a headed ICON. I see the Everblades site has them as "Heat Flexx". They are pricey ($100) but may be worth it if they work.

The problem with heating the rubber insert is that it will melt the snow on the rubber but when the blade is swiped across the cold glass the water makes a frozen glaze right in your field of vision. Running your defroster real hot will also cause that by making the snow melt at the base of the windshield where the wiper rests.

In my (for what it's worth) opinion, a cold rubber insert with a heated frameless blade makes the most sense. The Heat Flexx may be just the ticket.

Any blade that is SILICONE will be the best performing blade you'll ever get. Walmart sells them now. Last set I had lasted 5 years and even with the metal frame I had zero problems in the winter and my new ones are working great so far this winter.
