Cummins Powered E250 NOT!! - Funny Story

Forcast

Tonight... Partly cloudy. Scattered showers and isolated evening thunderstorms... Mainly near the mountains. Snow showers above 3000 feet. Low 36 to 43. Southwest winds gusting 30 to 45 mph along the Hillside will diminish after midnight. Elsewhere... South and southwest winds 15 to 25 mph diminishing.

Sat. Night - Maybe Frost in Anchorage.

Cool. I wish it would get it's a$$ in gear and head on down to south Georgia. The temps are going down, but the humidity is still pretty bad.

Man, I would love to step out of a tent or off a porch in the am. and see an Alaskan frost. Crazy Horse, have you been hunting yet. I am trying to save for a blackbear hunt. Possibly the Spring of 05.

Crazy Horse - I was just thinking that myself... . The grid heaters came on this morning when I started the truck, first time in a long time - thermometer indicated 43. I was up in the mountains SE of Mt. St. Helens last Saturday, temps were in the low 50's and the Vine Maples were already changing colors. Hunting season is almost upon us! I sure hope we get more snow here than last winter. Easier to track elk in it...

Winter will come in Anchorage way before it comes to Seattle... but it will come...

Okie Go- I haven't been huntin yet but it's drawin on me hard to go. I just got done building a storage barn in the backyard. Used my old huntin tarp to cover the framed roof a couple of night cause of rain. After the barn was covered and there was a real strong smell of campfire smoke from the tarp, that combined with the sound of rain comming down just made me want to be out there.

Maybe I will have to wait till the wind changes out of the North and if I try real hard I can smell it also. Have fun! Wish I were there.

Ahh yes, happiness is hearing the grid heater solenoids! Won't be long now.

I'm not a hunter, but you guys look like you're having FUN!

I just live Autumn, a good time for Drag racing too!

I just got back from a week in Fairbanks on Monday. Moose season started last weekend. Lots of people going north on the Steese. Weather was getting cool and wet. I like the weather here in Colorado better thankyou.

It all looks like GOOOD eatin. I guess the cooler weather's got everybody's hair standing up on the backs of their necks. This post should have been entitled, show your huntin pictures. Nobody posted a Caribou yet so here is one from the last hunt.

You guys are making it hard on a guy that can't go hunting like that when he wants. Several times I wish I would have moved out West so I could hunt. I have a good life and no regrets but a man sometimes thinks what if? I started college with a promise of a job in Alaska if I had a degree. When I graduated the jobs were taken. Dean of students said it goes in cycles, sometimes there are plenty and times they can't find teachers. (I wonder if I am too old or too young. )

WyoJim-Those Big Horns are something. That hillclimb up out of Cody on Alt 14 was something. What a view from the top. We were through there last year on our trip from Alaska to Key West and back again. We were up there looking for a high country meadow we came across in 1982 when we were moving to Alaska. We liked it so much at the time we stayed up there for a week. There was a trail off the paved road to the left (traveling west) that went back a couple of miles, crossed a small creek and put you in the middle of this meadow. Deer, Moose, pollen from the trees riding on the winds. Closest thing to heaven, I've ever seen. We never found it last year, we searched for a few days before snow drove us out. One thing I do remember; there was a Rangers cabin or something back in the far corner of this meadow.
