Last winter my wiper-motor kept blowing fuses whenever wet heavy snow fell. It finally died out and I had to bring it to a 24 hour garage to get a new one installed (I believe they got it from Napa). Anyhow, it still continues to blow fuses whenever it has snow on the window or any little resistence on the wipers causes it to blow a fuse. Any suggestions?? My local garage suggests a new motor.

First thing to check is verify the correct size fuse is being used. If it is correct then check the freedom of movement of wiper linkage (disconnected from motor). If the wiper linkage moves freely then a new motor would be the likely culprit.
A little information on your truck would help us armchair troubleshooters come up with some ideas.

Open the wiper cavity at the base of the windshield and check the mechanism joints. It's possible they're corroded or gucked up and provide too much mechanical resistance, thus overloading the motor.

Find out what else is on the wiper motor circuit. There may be a partial short somewhere else increasing the load on the circuit.

My linkage was so corroded that high speed was slower than slow speed a few years ago. (only I didn't know it and thought the motor went bad) Pax side wiper arm mount was not able to be moved without tools when I disassembled it. (yes, you can ... even though it is not designed for disassembly)

I have since done two other truck ... . same side, same problem.

Once freed and lubed with synthetic grease (doesn't emulsify) the wipers really fling water off everywhere.

Also check the cube relays I had all kinds of greef on my 05. The wiper motor shorted out blew fuses and burned the contacts on the relays.....
