2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wiper problems

I guess with 186,000 miles this is to be expected.



My wipers do not come on no matter where I twist the control SOMETIMES



And SOMETIMES they will stop somewhere mid-wipe.



This just started two days ago.



Checked the relay looked and smelled clean.

Checked the electrical connectors and they were clean also.



Any tips, hints, ideas????

probably the wiper motor dying
these things go bad, and this looks like how they fail.

Verify that you have 12v on the motor with a meter even during the failure modes.

Probably find one in a bone yard - plenty of 1500s there and probably same part# look for low mileage unit and it'll probably last you 100k or so . . .

I know you said you checked all connections but pay particular attention to the motor ground and make sure it is good and not intermittent.
