I was just curious if anyone else experiences the same crappy wiper function as I've been dealing with for years on this truck. I'm not sure why or whats up anymore but it seems its VERY sensitive to the specific wiper type of design. As they swipe over the windshield they miss areas, and they lift off the windshield very easily with the slightest amount of wind while driving down the road. I've kinda just given up trying new wiper blades.
I've even bent the wiper arm to help push down more and also twisted the arm to help square it up on the windshield. Still they work terrible...

Neither...

But let me clarify, this is only a problem for the drivers side wiper. The passenger side seems to be fine.

Does the spring tension seem to be like the other side? I switched to the expensive Rain-X solid blade silicone style and find them to work much better.

I have stopped using my old favorites like Bosch, Michelin, etc. and have returned to OEM beam type wipers. They seem to last a lot longer and maintain contact with the windshield much better. Your symptoms indicate some aerodynamic or positioning issues. You may need a new arm if the spring tension is weak or beam is twisted. Recommend trying a high quality blade first, then a new arm. A rare event may be due to a replacement "low cost" windshield that may not have the correct curvature...or keep the speeds below 100mph...;)

Spring tension seems to be similar. And I've used about 4-5 different brands, aside from factory, and they all act the same except for one.

I've messed with the arm twisting and bending and it seems to not care. The only wiper that worked was one I thought was due to the airfoil design which I thought was keeping the blade more in contact with the windshield at highway speeds.
I'm even up for swapping out the spring but I cant find replacement springs, just whole arm assembly's.

Is your cowl seal intact?

I have been running ACDelco 8-4420 standard, metal-frame blades on my truck for years. They work very well and don't lift at high speeds, only problem is they don't last but @ 4 months in warm weather and half that in the winter. I started hearing a squeak when my wipers are on the past couple of weeks and I thought it was another blade coming apart so I bought a set of Motorcraft WW2001PF beam-style blades this time to try. I HATE the way ice packs up in the frame of the regular style blades and thought I'd try the beams. The very first day I used them I noticed quite a bit of lift at interstate speeds. Guess I'll go back to my old standards and deal with the ice on the very few occasions it happens.

So it appears you've experienced the same as what I'm describing...

Yes, I drive too fast, too....

Yes, I have had lift issues with the beam-style blades. I have not had that issue with the regular old metal frames.
