2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wire harness for ambient temperature sensor?

I just bought an '01 2500. My first Dodge and my first diesel. What a truck! I also just found TDR. This site is a goldmine!! The temperature on the overhead console reads -40. Just figured out the temperature sensor and the wire harness are missing. My dealer can order a temp sensor, but he says he can't get the wire harness. Anyone have any other sources?

That doesn't sound right... ... ... Maybe the truck wasn't built with the overhead and someone thought they could add one. If it was just a missing sensor you would(should) get an oc in the read out meaning open circuit. Pm me the vin I may be able to see if it was built with one.
