I am currently wireing up the motor that i put in my 84 chev and i do not know what the wires that come off the fuel lift pump there are two wires that split and go to two places on the pump. please help as i am trying to make the harness now. Thx Dana ps the motor is a 97 215hp

They are for the fuel heater. One should go to the fuel heater relay for power and the other to ground.

My manual is for a 94 so the wire colors may be different but the scheme should be the same.

Howard then what are the wires that come off the bottom of the fuel filter/water separater, i thought they were the heater wires .

They are for the water sensor.

I wouldn't worry about the fuel heater, some just remove it.

now we are getting there, but up here it gets to -40 celcius, sounds like i need a relay, does the heater run all the time or is it temp sensored?also i see i can screw into the oil filter adapter for a pressure guage but i am wondering where the factory sender is ,

The fuel heater assembly has it's own temperature sensor built in. It has voltage to it all the time the ignition switch is on. The relay for it is in the power distribution center.

I wouldn't worry much about the water in fuel sensor. It connects between the PCM and ground and causes an alarm if there is water in the bottom of the fuel filter. Don't apply any voltage to it.

The factory oil pressure sensor is located in the lower part of the engine block on the driver's side just to the rear of the power steering pump.
