Recipient Truck: Rusted out 91. 5 diesel, manual shift, no AC, cable operated heat, crank windows, red interior, plain Jane. Donor Truck: Mint shape 92 gas, auto, AC, vacuum operated heat and AC, power window, gray interior, LE edition with all the extras. My goal is to put the HVAC system in the 91 and use as much of the donor wiring as I can as it is in excellent condition. Most of the under hood wires I feel will have to be from the old diesel. Will the wires in the steering column from the gas job work in the diesel? Where do I get the vacuum for the HVAC? I am saving all the harnesses as I figure I may have to cut and splice but I'm hoping much of it is universal and plug and play type. Anyone who has experience in this will be more than welcome to reply. Thanks.

Genos Garage has both factory service manuals and CDs going back to 1989. The factory wiring diagrams will be a great help. Genos is an advertiser on this site.

When wiring my 86 to accept the 92 system, I used a site call (Alldata.com) to get some wiring diagrams. It will cost for a subscription (not sure how much - but reasonable). That way you could download diagrams for both and compare, to see what changes you need to do. Just a suggestion:D
