2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wiring harness replacement

I am planning to rewire my headlights to get the load off the headlight switch but found out the Summit harness part # SUM-890030 is no longer available. Instead they refer to a "close" part by APC part # AMC-509104. Has anyone tried the APC part and could you provide your impression of the alternate part?

Headlight switch

There was a factory recall on many models to add a relay to the light switch so the switch ran the relay, the relay ran the headlights. Give your vin to a dodge dealer, and they can tell you if that recall applies to your truck. Freebie fix if it does.

The old Summit part IS the APC harness.

The recall only covers the duallys but will work on the 2500's if you can talk your dealer into seeling it to you

I think the chances of that are pretty low. But at least the dealer won't charge if I ask the question.
