2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wiring piece unconnected, not sure of placement, cruise control inop

2002 Cummins had some paintwork done and this was not connected. I know one part of it goes to the light under the hood, but where does the second connector, pictured in my hand, connect?

Cruise control just stopped operating, don't know if the two are related.

I think it may go to the temperature sensor under the left side battery. I will go check my truck to confirm.

Clyde the Pointer, how many wires in the connector? Can you pull the wire protector back and identify the wire colors?

If it is a two-wire connector and one wire is black with a light blue tracer and the other wire is pink with a yellow tracer, then it does connect to the battery temperature sensor. That connector should be clipped to the front of the battery tray.

If this is not the case, give me the wire count and the wire colors and I will see if I can identify the connector.

One is red other is black, 2 wires. I just plug the wire into the underwood light and my in the Cab temperature gauge now functions whereas previously it hadn't. That still leaves one connector as described. Thanks for that tip!

one is the light the other is for outside air temperature sensor it is in the grill at the front of the hood.
