Trying to fight the “Hunting in Overdrive Issue”. I purchased a TPS noise filter From DTT. The instructions state to connect one wire of the noise filter to the TPS signal wire from the PCM;

Orange/dark blue striped wire

And the other wire of the noise filter to the PCM ground;

Black/tan striped wire

The instructions also state to verify against a wiring diagram of your year vehicle.

Unfortunately, I’m visiting out of state and don’t have access to my manual. My truck is a 99. Can any of you TDR good guys verify the color codes of the above-mentioned wires for my truck?

I’d GREATLY appreciate your efforts so I can hopefully put this,,, “hunting” issue to bed for good!!!!

Cannot help you with the wiring, but would you let me know if the noise filter works. I'm having real serious problems with this hunting. don't even want to drive the truck.

RamBob,

I installed the noise filter as per Bill Kondaly's instructions and also cleaned my battery terminals, the PCM and ECM connectors which Bill also said to do.

The transmission now shifts perfectly!!!!!! Bill stated that this procedure corrects about 80% of the "hunting" problems that he has delt with.

Bill's instructions are right on. I have a '99 and my manual shows the TPS Signal as pin 23 on module C1 with a color of OR/DB. The ground is pin 31 or 32 and both have a BK/TN wire. The book shows the pin count is left to right with 1 - 11 on the bottom row, 12 - 21 on the center row and 22 - 32 on the top row. Hope this helps.

Phil
