This might be from left field, but does anyone know if there is a wiring harness for the lit passenger side vanity mirror? Let's say a guy is married... and this guy ends up getting a truck without the lit passenger vanity mirror... and the guy wants to make his wife happy... is it going to be a simple matter of buying the right Mopar part # (from somewhere like www.mydodgeparts.com), unscrewing the old one, snapping together a wiring harness and screwing the new one on? I couldn't find anything in the '03 FSM regarding the actual hookup of the power.

I know this is a crazy question, but I just want to have all of my bases covered...

I know I could just order the ADA light group on an SLT, but I'm talking about more if I go the ST route.

As always, thanks for any input.

I checked my service manual too, and in volume 2 (wiring) there is no reference to any connector for a lighted vanity mirror. I have an SLT, and my mirror is not lighted. Are you sure it's available? Might be new for 2005. But, the wiring harness on these trucks seems to be universal, which means if the lighted vanity mirror is an option I'd bet 10:1 the harness for it is already in place.

take out the 3 screws that hold the sun visor into the roof. there will be one hole approximately 1/2" in diameter. look in that hole to see if there is a very small connctor. should only be 2 wires. i don't see why dodge would make more than one wiring harness just to not have the lighted mirrors.

" light group"

In ordering our new 04 CTD the vanity lights on both sides was a part of the light package. Seems that my wife drives this truck now more than I do so it was a good additiion. Nothing like ordering your truck with all the "bells and whistles" that you want. Most of the time the factory harness is in the truck for the accessory to be wired to.

Lighted Mirror

If it does not have the harness, Walmart has a lighted mirror with adhesive or strap back for a few bucks.

Thanks for the tip on the Walmart Mirror. I had been scouring my JC Whitney catalogue and had come up dry. That should serve my purpose well.

www.mydodgeparts.com has all of the lit and unlit vanity mirrors from Mopar available. They are all around $90. Pretty spendy, but not too much to make the missus happy!

I think I'll start with the Walmart mirror until I have a chance to explore replacing the vanity mirrors.

Thanks everyone for the input!

EEngel, thanks! That one looks pretty good too. I'll probably take the factory visor off if I get an ST (doesn't even have a mirror on it) and see how the wiring looks. If it looks like cake to hook up a factory lit mirror I might do it for the "cleaner" look. However, if there is any doubt I'm going to go with an aftermarket one and save myself the trouble.

The auctions all just ended, but Henna Dodge in Georgia (long way off for me) had about six trucks configured exactly like I want mine. Patience... patience...

Thanks again everyone for answering some of these "oddball" questions.
