Wiring?????

Any body know what color a switched 12 volt wire is on a 2006?

I'm instaling an exhaust brake and need a 12v switched (not hot all the time) line for the exhaust brake switch.

Sounds simple dont it?

Acording to the instructions it should be red with a white stripe.

I think I will find Jimmy Hoffa under my dash before I find a re with white stripe wire.

I dont want to just start poaking around with a tester on every red wire I find.

Whose exhaust brake are your installing? The JacBrake taps in under the fuse box under the hood, and I used the same wire for my PacBrake. Check out the JacBrake install instructions on their site for for finding the right wire.

I'm installing a BD brake.

Called there tech department and they told me to keep stabbing wires till I found one.

I'll check out the JacBrake site.

On my 03 the cigarette lighter is switched, maybe that'll work for you? JR

The cigarette lighter is switched on the 2006.

I tapped into a wire at the fuse box under the hood like the Jacobs directions show on their website. Much easier than searching under the dash!
