Oct. Breakfast (GLTDR)

We are planning on having a camping weekend to go along with the DHRA drags at Greatlakes Dragway in Union Grove, Wisconsin the weekend of Oct. 4. You can read about the drags here:https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=65028

I think that Huckstorf Diesel is up for having an open house that weekend also.

Here is some information about the Bong State Park:The Sunrise Campground is the only one that can be reserved and has electric available on the dates of the meet. Sites 201-237 have electric and are available to be reserved. I think the sites cost $10 a night for a non-resident, along with a $3. 00 fee for electric. There is also a $10 per day fee for non-residents to enter the park. The reservation fee costs $9. 50 and can either be done online, or by phone (call 1-888-WI-PARKS). Let me know if you think this will be ok, or if we should look at some private campgrounds. As of today, none of the sites have been reserved. You can check it out by going here:http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/parks/specific/bong/index.html

Click on the "reserve a campsite" link to find out more specific info. I would try to reserve a campsite as early as possible to guarantee getting a site. Let me know what you think.

Are you ready Wisconsin?

Let's see if we can top our biggest divisional drag race in attendance! Remember, you need not be a DHRA member to race, just to compete for points.

Huckstorf Diesel is sponsoring this event and they have some great goodies for us during the race. Call them for more information at 800-776-7102 or email them -- email address removed --.

So if you are ready for a great weekend of camping and watching/participating in some sportsman drag racing, mark this one on your calendar!

I talked to John Huckstorf on Friday

I went up and visited John Huckstorf on Friday, and he said that they were planning on having an open house on Saturday morning before the drags begin. If anyone shows up early on Friday, they would try to accommodate them and show them their facility. Last year, when I had a bombing session at my house, Huckstorf's had an open house that was very informative. They had a P7100 on the test bench and another tore apart on the table. Their pump guy Jon did an excellent job explaining how everything worked and was worth the trip alone(for me).

According to the flier I got from them, the Gates open at 11:00AM at the drag strip, with time runs starting at 12:30 and eliminations at 3:30. That should give everyone enough time to check out their shop before the drags begin. Let me know if you have any questions.

John,

What time can we inspect their facility Sat A. M. ? Do you have driving directions to Huckstorf's, and then to the track? I wasn't able to make it last year. Will you be making the special bomb party this weekend?

Paul

Hey Paul, if I don't have to work this weekend, I'll be at Jim's. I'll find out what time Huckstorf's opens on Saturday morning and post it here.

Hello everyone! We will have our open house from 7:00 to Noon. Our shop is 3 miles west of I-94 on Ryan Road exit. Take Ryan Rd. west to 60th street. Turn left to the first street Airways Ave. Turn left again to 58th street. Turn left again and we are the first shop on the left.

The gates open at DaGrove at 11:30. The track is 4 miles west of I-94 on Hwy. KR (County Line Road). Time runs start at 12:30. The elimination rounds start at 3:30. We are only 20 minutes from the track, so there is plenty of time for both. I think there will be a good turnout here at the shop, and should make a fun run to the track. :D

Entry fee at the track is $30 for a truck and driver. Spectator admission is $12. If you want to bring your truck in and park with everyone else, but not race, it will cost $5 extra. It should be a great event with good representation from all makes and many clubs.

As always, feel free to call with any questions! 800-776-7102

I am in spot 228 and hope I am up the decline from you Steve in case of any plumbing problems you might encounter.

For you guys that are familiar with the chicago area what's the best route for me to take around chicago to get there? I figure I'll be west bound on 80. I'd rather drive further and avoid traffic pulling the condo.

Good Luck Chi town traffic

Steve, I cant tell you the best way. . but what I can tell you is that Brother in law came up from Indiana which is normally a 4-5 hour drive took him 8 hours:{ with the wife:-{} and kid. He was freakin:mad: I imagine if you go out and around you will hit a lot less traffic. Good luck give a call if ya need anything (see PM)
