GLTDR Michigan Area Breakfast - April 2003

Aron,

Thanks for the Goerend update. We were starting to get inquiries about it. Keep us informed on when a date is set, and I can get an email out.

Stockboy Dave:D

(Who's VP44 is still working, btw) :p

Lunch

Did someone say lunch? I like lunch. Hook us up Jim, hopefully I'll make it this time.

Jet, PM me if you need a tour guide or need to find something here in the area. Not sure how long you've been in the Milwaukee area but I'd love to help if you need it. You mentioned daughters earlier, got any my age?

Aron, you have stork problems up there? I've got some hot loaded #5's that'll take care of flyin' varmints. Anyone for buffalo stork wings?:-laf

Just another clown in the circus.

Nixter

I'm ready for lunch

I'm also ready for some warm weather.

Run while you still can Jet!!!:-laf :-laf . Maybe we can see if Power Grizz will be ready for a spring dyno run up in Wausau being that Goerend's will be later in the year. Bummer you can't make TIM Aron, I'm gonna have to find someone else to convoy down with that likes to tow fast:D :D

nixter-thanks, where is the local shop everyone buys diesel upgrades at around here? We used to live in Waukesha a while back. I'm in Oak Creek now, I know the area pretty well from living here before. Is there a hang out anywhere in town that some diesel boys get together at?

You can talk to the guys at Huckstorf's

Turbojet, you can talk to the guys at Huckstorf Diesel. John and Mark are decent guys to talk to. They are located in Franklin. Just take Hwy 100(Ryan rd. ) west from I-94 to 60th street(Franklin Industrial Park). Turn south on 60th and make a left at the first street, followed by another left. They are right up the road. Here's their website:http://www.hdiesel.com/.

Thanks for the Goerend's info. If the timing works out, I'll try to make it to CHEESETOWN for lunch if you guys get together.

BTW, it's HIP to be STOCK!!!:-laf :-laf

'Jet, don't do anything rash...

Nothing wrong with upgrading your truck, but don't be in a hurry. You can't rush these things. There are a few in our group that can get you started down the righteous path of the BOMB. Like nixter, for example. He knows all about gauges. :p

Bottom line, take your time. See what some have done and most importantly, learn from the mistakes they've made. Trust me on this one.

As for lunch. Where is what we have to determine. There are several places around here (LaCrosse). There are places in Madison (Hooters!). Or there is the 'Cities, Rochester, et al. Luckily for me, LaCrosse is the most centrally located. So if you want me to set something up...

Re: You can talk to the guys at Huckstorf's

Thanks for the information. I'll check them out. Not in a hurry, just wondered where things are. What's you guys opinion on the new edge box? Sounds like a dependable piece.

Man, I filled up today, cost me $62. 02, thank god I got rid of the HEMI, I'd be walking.

hey all you cheeseheads(and ones who wont admit it). i would've replied eariler, but i've been trading and selling trucks left and right. i have gone through four trucks since the middle of january. all dodges three diesels and a gasser. but now i have two i am going to keep.

... as far as a chapter... hide the children and give the women some earplugs. and for the secret handshake, i am north of hwy 29 so i never got the privilege to learn it.

...computers and VP44's and give them to the amish, they have the same use for them as i do. no electricity no problem!

... but aaron(spelling?aron-not) did have the highest hp at the wausau dyno run!

... while speaking of dyno running, jason at K+S fuel injection called me and asked if there was anything going on in MAY, SAT 10th. he is planning on a FULL OUT open house with dyno runs, a rep from BD, maybe a couple other vendor reps, wausau harley davidson will have a 100th edition bike they taking qualifying entrants to be entered for final winning(ends in june), food and the all good stuff.

let me know what you guys think on this, i will be talking to him again very soon and i can have secretary basement saver dave send out a e-mail with a better list of what jason has planned in may.

WOO HOO!!

Count me in, I can taste the soot already. Oo.

The May 10th dyno run deal sounds great. For us newer, who never even knew their was a secret hand shake members, where is K+S at?

I am out of here tomarrow (march 15th) headin out to CA with the off road truck in tow. Be the first major pull for the new truck, will see how it does compared to the 2001 automatic. The best part is when I get back it will have some good miles on it and I can start to Boom away and make it really pull, figured it would be good to get atleast one good stock run on it. It will be about 5000 miles pulling around 12,000#. Going to try and get a picture of it all loaded up tonight.

I'm ready

I'm ready for some much needed diesel action. Oo. Oo. I think that would work out great for a dyno day(being that Goerend's will be later in the year). They had a nice facility and hosted a excellent dyno event last fall. Mopar-Mudder, K&S is located in Schofield, near Wausau. Looks like you have a nice looking rig there. So what trucks are you keeping now Mitch?:D

the event in may sounds llike it will be big. the local rock radio station Z104 will be there taking entrants to raffle off the harley. an hopefully we will have some more trucks there.

john,

for trucks i am keeping, i have a 92 now and the 83 shortbox sounds like i will get built for heavy power. and it should be together for may.

grizz

I might be up for it. I have a couple parts to try changing between runs, how much will they charge and can we get more than 1 run like at Goerends?

For all you guys that don't remember the handshake lessons: the deprograming was successful, Basement Saver Dave has been prohibited from doing that again if he wants to remain free...
