In general no... Wix does not meet the OE specs for fuel filters, and I don't know about oil... but fleetguard is much better...

For the fuel OE specs a 7 micron absolute filter, the best WIX offers is a 7 micron nominal filter. The only two filters I have seen that meet OE spec are OE (Cummins, Fleetguard, Mopar) and the Baldwin PF7977 (actually exceeds OE specs). .

For oil the best filters are either the Fleetguard Stratapore (25 micron absolute) or Amsoil EaO080 (Donaldson ELF7349)(15 microns absolute).

We use Wix at the shop I work at and never have had a problem. I use Wix on everything I have, never had a lick of trouble.

I have used WIX plenty over the years and never had an issue. . The do make a quality filter, but when it comes to things as important as a fuel system that sees 23,000 psi I want to at least meet the OEM specs... (Unfortunately the OEM specs aren't what Bosch wants, hence my 2 extra fuel filters)...

Like I said, quality filter... but they don't have the ratings that Dodge requires on there fuel filter for the HPCR.

So, the Wix filters that cross over from the Fleetguard FS1212 and FF5320 are not really "equal"?

Nope... .

OEM Fuel (FS19579) = 7 microns absolute, WIX (33585) = 10 micron nominal, 33585XE = 7 microns nominal. . as a not FS19579 replaced FS19800E with a ULSD compatible o-ring... WIX only specs a 10 micron nominal, 33585XE is speced off the old FS19800E.

FS1212 = 96% at 20 microns, 79% at 10 microns. WIX 33405 = 12 microns nominal.

FF5320 = 5 microns absolute, 92% at 2 microns. GPH. WIX 33528 is 2 microns nominal.

Filters

You need a 2 or 3 micron filter. If you run the oem 7 micron I will promise you injector problems. In 5k miles I replaced 7,... yes 7 injectors tks to oem filters. I now run (2) 2 micron filters (one in back prior to the LP and one in front prior to the cp3). There was ZERO change in my fuel pressure by running the two filters. Better safe than sorry. Cheap insurance. Summit Racing has a sweet little Perma-cool filter and housing for your up-front filter if you decide to go that way. Perma-cool also has a 2-micron available through Summit also with a drain on the bottom of the filter. The housing is quality and aluminium. Ck it out on Summit Racing - High Performance Car and Truck Parts | 800-230-3030 and then keyword your search.
