My driver's door hinge is all wobbly... is there a hinge pin/bushing kit, or fix, or are new hinges from the dealer required... ?

There is a kit but I didn't have much luck as it requires drilling out the old hinge halves to accept a larger pin. I ended up on a milling machine with half of my scrap pile for "v-blocks" shims, fixtures, holders. The problem is that the hole wears into an oblong so when you try drilling it out the drill wants to follow the line of least resistance. An end mill will recut the hole true but it's a pain to set up. I lucked out with a tighter set of hinges from my local wrecking yard. Hinges are kinda pricey from the dealer.

Hope this helps, Jones

My drivers side door was also loose. It turned out the bushings had come out of the hinge and the holes were worn oval. I bought new bushings (same OD as stock) and some JB Weld from a local parts store. I installed the new bushings with the JB weld on the OD. Make sure the holes are very clean, use thinners and let the JB Weld cure for the day. I know this sounds like a Mickey Mouse fix and won't be permanent. This was 3 months ago, I use the truck several times every day and the JB weld is still holding the bushings in the hole. I'll see how long it lasts.

I have already changed mine once and the new one is loose. I am going to send my old one to superbirdbob.com. He rebuilds them with a greaseable tube. It looks like a permanant fix to me. The cost is less than a 100 bucks too.
