i went to my local 5* dealer yesterday to order the two bolts that hold the prime-loc kit to the intake(taking mine off and the prime-loc bolts are longer than OEM) i literally had to take the parts guy outside and pop the hood to show him the bolts in question. he went back in, looked them up on the screen and told me they were all the same length. i said no they were different lengths. after much discussion with his co-workers they decided they were different lengths and he went back and brought them up front. . he said $15. 92 each!!! what i said, for a 1 5/8" bolt, you got to be kidding me. he said he was not kidding. i laughed and told him to bolt it to his lower lip and it would match that *thing* he had bolted in his nose... i went to ace hardware and paid $1. 89 for each. can you believe $15. 92. . LMAO

Maybe he thought you worked for the Federal Government... . That would be a fair price for them to pay... Just a thought --- is that bolt a hardened bolt... Maybe that is why it was so high$$$$... Still though even a hardened grade 5 bolt isn't that much... . JUST ANOTHER FINE EXAMPLE OF THAT 5 STAR SERVICE.....

Dustoff,

Did you check with Cummins or a local big rig shop? Actually, you could go to a marine hardware store and get stainless for less than that. DC's prices are always higher than Cummins for the same part.

iceman and joe... i did not check with cummins joe, its about a hours drive, but the ones i got from the hardware store are hardened steel and were from the specs that came from D/C. i took one of the bolts out late yesterday just to see if the length and thread pattern looked the same and it did. i'll get the job done this weekend... . thanks again

Dustoff - Your response to the Parts Dude was about the same as the one I gave our local parts guy when he offered to sell me a $56+ fuel filter. ROFLMAO all the way out the door while I volunteered that I could buy 3 at that price.
