The last couple of times I've started the truck and put it into gear there has been no response by the transmission. After about 20 seconds it pops into gear and away I go. The transmission fluid level is good. Is this a case of the converter draining while sitting overnight or for a couple hours at a time? I've heard there's a check-valve in the trans cooler line that could be defective and allowing the converter to drain. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mine will be slow to go after parked for a few days. After starting put it in N for faster TC fill up. Some folks remove the check valve on purpose for better cooler flow and on earlier models it was part of a TSB to add one, they came without the check valve. If you can handle the wait I see no problem with a defective check valve.
