I have a 1998 24 valve 4x4 3500. After starting engine in the morning and warming just 3 or 4 minutes the engine refuses to start again unless you grind on it for 2 or 3 minutes, and if that does'nt work I have to crack a couple of injector lines before it will start. I have replaced the electric fuel lift pump, this did'nt help at all. A call to the local pump shop revealed that my injector pump is shot. Also that it is not a rebuildable pump. Just bring me your truck and lots of money we'll fix it with a new pump. Well it's hard for me to believe that this truck runs great , pulls a 24' 3 axle trailer every day without any hesitation and has a shot injector pump. I'm no mechanic but it sure sounds like it's sucking air to me. I need my truck fixed yesterday but before I spend the money I would really like some advice , thanks.

Well, to me it sounds like the beginnings of a bad injection pump. You can check that short section of rubber hose between the lift pump and injection pump for sucking air, but that doesn't sound like a possibility at all. No hot starting is a common thing when these 24v pumps go bad.
