Archived won't run more than a block

03 3500 auto, this truck is a tow truck pulls a thirty six fifth wheel, it sit's more than it's driven, the batteries died. I replaced them and took it out for a drive, went about fifhteen miles and it died, it started right back up, it will idle all day long but as soon as you put in gear it will die or you might make it 100 ft or a block before it die's again, changedthe fuel filters , still doing the same thing.

Have you check LP pressure? Stil have the one on the fuel filter housing or was in retor-fitted with one in the tank. Sounds suspiciously like the LP is failing.

Sonds like lift pump to me too. I had the same thing happen minus the failing batteries.

Algae in the fuel tank. I had the same thing happen to mine. Change the fuel filters and drop the tank to pull the strainer/pick up out and clean it. I am betting it will be covered in slime. If that's the case, the tank needs to be cleaned. You can buy a biocide, but not sure how effective it will be on a clogged system.
