this happened after i got done doing 4x4 donuts on the pavement couple days ago. it wont shift into second gear unless i take my foot off the throttle, then it shifts into second and the rest of the gears are fine. it had a code 0720, but i unhooked the batteries over night and it went away, but it still wont shift right!!!! somebody help me!!!!i read it could be a low output speed sensor or something??!?!!??!?! thanks

GWall,

P0720 = Trans low output speed sensor rpm, above 15mph

Sensor mounts on the driver side of the overdrive unit. comes out easy with a 1" socket, lose about a cup of fluid. I think the part might be 20 bucks from the dealer. Sometimes you can just take it out and wipe the clutch material/shavings off and reinstall, but for the cost i would just replace it.

This should get your gears back, unless you fried something inside ;)

The sensor is magnetic and shavings will stick to it and cause it to not read right sometimes. I don't know if that would cause your problem though, but it's easy to pull it out and clean it off.
