On my 03 I could check codes by turning the key to the ON position (not the START position), then OFF-ON-OFF-ON. Then watch for codes to show at the odometer position. Have a pen and paper ready to take down codes. When codes have been completed it will show "done". Again, it's ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON. Hopefully it will work on your 06.

Gary, Thank you for your sugjestion. how ever that doesnot seam too work on ann 06.

Found the problem now. It seames that the pump I use to transfer fuel from my aux. tank to the main tank was not working, so I thought I had fuel when I did not. Thanks again for your help.

Hey guys, I didn't know how to post this under 911, but I have a problem. TRUCK IS DOWN!!! Used it all day yesterday, and ran fine. Started it this morning, started fine. Gently pulled out of driveway because motor was cold, thought I heard a cough or hiccup, and truck DIED! Truck cranks over just fine, but won't start. I noticed that my rail pressure gauge reads only 80 while trying to start. I changed fuel filter, primed the system, still won't start. I noticed that if I wait 10 minutes between cranking, rail pressure goes up to 300psi. So I waited an hour, and rail pressure went up to 2100 while cranking, and it felt like it was close to starting, but then pressure dropped and it just cranked. I need my truck first thing Monday morning! What could be wrong? Smarty tells me I have no DTC's, so nothing to clear. Could it be the fuel rail relief valve?

Yea, sounds like you have a failed FCA. You can try unplugging it and see if that will get you anywhere, if you drive it like that, drive like a granny until you replace it.

Good thing you have a rail gauge. Thats the first place to start.

try this for second --> https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/search.php?searchid=1410379

And if you need to post a new topic, theres a silver button on the left side of the 911 forum, just above the threads. . "New Thread"

good luck

Todd from TCWest called me at 7:30 this morning (Sunday) to talk me through it. I did the FCA thing, no start. I loosened the fuel line to cylinder #1 and cranked, no fuel. So it's either a bad CP3, or no fuel getting to the CP3. I'm going out to check this right now.

I pulled the fuel line from the fuel filter leading to the CP3 (banjo bolt) and turned the key. I filled a 10 ounce glass jar in about three seconds, so I assume I don't have a problem on the fuel supply side, but a problem at the CP3, since no fuel is coming out of the fuel rail when cranking. Todd (TWest) at TCDiesel is overnighting a stage 1 CP3. Sounds like a fun install!!!
