I went through lots of research on this before I took delivery of my truck. There are a few aftermarket companies with metal finish overlays. I was interested in wood. Bad news there. I talked with a few guys that had experience with this. A couple guys that went with aftermarket kits were satisfied, but more said they were unhappy with the fit and quality. One guy in particular said he went with the best he could find, and ended up wanting to return it only to not get a response from the vendor.
The only 2 guys that really were happy, were the ones who got the mopar kit, and it seems to me it ran 250 for the dash, and bout 580 for the whole truck. It applies over the existing satin plastic. I check the fit and it did look good. The wood itself was rich looking. I opted out for two reasons. First- I thought it was too much. Second- I really wanted that satin plastic trim piece to go away, but even mopar's piece for the dash was 3 piece, and where the contour steps up, they have a little sliver piece to fit between the main top and bottom pieces. The fit is tight, but it meant 2 visable seams, seams that can collect dust and dirt. If it was a single moulded piece, I would have thought it was worth it, but I ended up not going for it & just getting used to the satin, which I never thought I would.
Bottom line- quality on this from aftermarket companies may be sketchy, so be cautious. JMHO
