Work boots

I am trying to find some Wellington/coyboy style work boots. My problem is, I have big and wide feet, or I can't get my foot in past the top side of the arch. Some are too flat.



I used to be able to wear some boots that were 13EE, but no longer can. Need some that are 14 or maybe even 15's, wide. IIRC, Justin makes some 14E(E), but couldn't get past the arch.



I can get elcheapo lace-up Brahma boots from Wal-Mart easy enough, but tired of wearing out the eyelets (which destroys the strings in short order), and around lots of moving shafts and augers. Always try to keep the strings short, so I won't get caught.



Any ideas? Or some that you don't have to spend $150+ on them?



Been to several western stores and ordered a pair from Sheplers (which I had to return), with no luck. May need to be special made, not sure. The local stores books didn't have anything. Most stop at 13EE or 14DD.

Sorry to hear about your troubles trying to find boots. I can feel your pain, I am a polar opposite, I have little, narrow feet, size 7 or so. I do not like lace up boots either. That puts me at a serious disadvantage.



Unfortunately to find a good pair of work boots (steel toe) that will fit, I always have to spend $150+. Right now I currently sport a pair of Red Wings, I think Pecos is the model. I purchase my workboots from a local place that has been supplying work shoes for decades. Gellco is the name of the place. I'm not to sure how keen you are on ordering your boots without being able to try them on but they do have a website (www.gellco.com) and you should be able to call and talk to someone about what you need.

Mmmm...Red Wings

I am in a delimma right now because my wife wants me to get some dress shoes, but I don't want to get anything that isn't a Red Wing. I think I paid something like $175 for mine and I can't believe how good they feel. I'm on my 2nd pair right now with the first being my "rough and tumble boots". They just don't give up. We use phosphate ester hydraulic oil here at work and everyone complains about it disolving the soles of their shoes, but I don't have any problems. Red Wings are the only shoe that I have ever had that were more comfortable new than when worn to my feet. I tried Justin and Wolverine slip on boots and just about killed my feet. Of course my RW's are lacers, but what a world of difference. My feet were actually able to heal after getting the RW's. The old ones are now about 3. 5 years old and I have never had a daily wear shoe last much over a year. My suggestion is that you spend the extra money for a really good pair of shoes/boots that will last a lot longer and wind up costing you less in the long run. Go Red Wings! Oo.

I use Redwings. They are made in the USA,are comfortable and last. The can be ordered in odd sizes. The are not cheap, but good work shoes help my feet, knees, and back.

I used to buy a cheap pair of Walmart boots every year until I discovered Red Wings. I bought a pair with their "super sole" and they came with a one year sole warranty. I thought I was going to score a free pair of boots out of the deal, but they have held up for over 3 years. You can't beat the made in USA quality and their selection of odd sizes.

I'll agree with everyone on the redwings, good boots, ya might also try a Blaine's Farm and Fleet or Mill's Fleet and Farm Work-n-Sport brand, they seem to be decent and I think I've seen your size, but the closest one to me that I know of is in Wisconsin near my parents...

I spend anywhere from 8-12 hrs on my feet walking on concrete and going up and down ladders. One word White's boots. They are not cheap but they are great. You can have them rebuilt/ resoled and if you have a different shaped foot, they will custom build them for you. They work out to about a buck and a half a day. Well worth the money in my eys.

White's are very popular with forest fire guys and timber marker, lumberjacks, and other in the woods types. They are rebuildable and are bulletproof. I couldn't afford White's, but I did get a pair of Wesco's years ago. They spent time marking timber, fire fighting, hunting, etc. for years. They are similar to White's but my understanding was White's are handmade, Wesco's aren't. I also have two pair of Red Wings. SOOO comfy! The extra money is definately worth it. If they have your size, of course.



Edit:Here's a place that sells Wesco, just did a quick search. The prices are a teeny weeny bit higher than I remember. I think I paid $180 for mine, but that was in 1987.

I forgot about Red Wings. Looks like they may have something that will fit. There a couple of stores in town that carry them.



Never heard of White's or Wesco before. Tough looking boots. Wesco, I didn't find anything over a size 13. White's makes some big ones, though. A bit more cashy than what I was hoping to spend, but go that route if Red Wings don't fit.

i still do. . i go through 2-3 pair of boots a year, so i get cheap when buying them. i got one pair of boots that were very nice, comfortable & lite weight. cost about $200 cdn. . they lasted 6 months before they were so worn out and soiled that i needed new ones. i wait for sales and compound coupons on the sales when i can and will sometimes buy 2-3 pair at a time. .

Red Wing's are great, but better then that are Carolinas. Carolina are the best boots I have ever had and most of them are made in the US.

Redwings are nice boots, and probably the most comfy right of the box that I ever used, but you sacrifice some durability to get that comfort.
