People, thank you all for your help up to this point! Okay, im going to buy a fuel pin and gov spring for my 30 thousand pound work truck,Tooltruck. Does it really matter which fuel pin I purchase? It,s work truck. I just want a bit more torque and higher rpm,s. Im going to put in some either marines 300 or pods fuel pin, gov spring, already did air box, lift pump, two air breathers on valve covers. Will do all the ve pump mods when doing all this and reseal the pump!
 
you should leave it alone ! those fuel pins ruin engines and waste a lot of fuel . It is also illegal to tamper with emission controls and that is exactly what you would be doing.. I stand in amazement of some of the crap I see on here !

I know who you are mystery man. Your the guy that retired or worked with Le I achoca in development of the early cummins pickup set up. You did a bang up job, but blew it on the brakes and front end steering, hopefully not your area or part of the truck. The beauity is, I too an industrial 5.9 with sweitzer and ceramic coated high compression pistons, heavier bearings and more stout evrything and just put a fuel pin in it, spring, matched ported all the gaskets, intake, exhaust, turbo, head, air breather, but im not stupid in running a k & n they suck. Donaldson. But, cummins casting process in the early days left alot to be desired. You should have seen how far they were off. Easily flows twenty percent more. 24 mpg 30 thousand pounds. The only drawback right now to my truck is the allison at545. Ive got so much torque its kinda whining. Did I mention I rebuilt everything myself! This is my first diesel. I sell tools for a living, and am an double expert tech,fab guy, everything. I dont buy new **** I fix it rebuild everything. Turbo, starter, alternator,everything. I love the 12 valve, best engine cummins ever made. But in in california, sooner or later dmv is going to catch up with me and take this truck off the road!
