Steve, I have two HP , PC's Exactly the same models. . Doesn't make any different which one i use, under the new format you just installed , the system is slower . . I am on Tele Co Lines but i was before. Do you have any suggestions as to how we can get into the system quicker?? It seems that from the time i click on Turbo Diesel register it is about 17 seconds before i can click on any item in your Server..... I notice that the commerical pictures attached to the opening of the TDR take some time on my PC. I will go to the Library where they have DSL and see if there is a improvement? Does anyone have this same trouble or is it me ?? Thanks Steve. . Bill

The only thing I have just changed is how the search function works. It wouldn't change anything anywhere else on the site. The server is currently flying along better than ever with a query rate of 220,000 queries per hour (about the peak we hit currently) and it's been up and running for 2 1/2 hours with ZERO slow queries. The best it's run in the past few weeks is 36 slow queries per hour on average and that includes the middle of the night when traffic is down and we don't have any slow queries.

For dial up customers I highly recommend trying out firefox ( http://www.firefox.com ) as a browser. Everyone who has tried it as a dial up customer has been extremely happy with the speed of that browser. If it's changed for you in the last day or so have you installed any new software on your PC? Many internet security packages filter Javascript which the site uses heavily for it's operation and will slow things down. It's also possible if this is happening just now that there is a problem with either your ISP or a link along the path to the TDR.

I'm on a dial up connected at 26,400 bps, I just installed Firefox yesterday, Internet Explorer was loading TDR pages in 55 to 65 seconds, Firefox is loading the same pages in about 18 to 20 seconds

Yep FireFox is the way to go,I switched many months ago, even though I got cable,Firefox is by far better than IE,the speed is like night and day.
