Opinions on Llama pistols?

Ok... surely some of you can give some ideas (legal ones) cause I have thought of the other ones already! ;) . about a year and a half ago I was injured on the job only needed three or four stiches. . was not a big deal. filled out the papers and thought it was all fine and dandy! well a few weeks back I get a bill from the hospital... so I call and find out there seems to be no insurance on the company I was working for..... so many calls later I find out the hospital never got the report sent to the labor commision and so there is no record that I even got injured, and its too late to just have hospital send it now ... cause there is a 180 day limit to report. So its looking more like I am doo doo out of luck. and the company is now dead so I cant go in with dynomite straped to my chest!!! LOL. . just kidding

ANY IDEAS???

Thanks, Jim

WOW! Sorry to hear that.

I was put on temp disability (by the company doctor) for kidney stones (the meds, not the stones themselves) and the co payed me 100% for almost 6 months!!!

It would have only been 3. 5 months, but managment are a bunch of idiots where I am. :D

Did you try calling any govt offices, something like NLRB?

It's 1. 5 years later and the hospital is just now coming to you for the bill? I'd say they missed out on the statute of limitations - especially since they 'forgot' to submit a required report. I'd tell them to pound sand.

a letter to the hospital administrator and to the head of the billing dept explaining what you just did here might be of help. . they must realise their error in this. . my guess they would write it off

I had much the same thing happen and was shocked when the bill came for $72,000. One call to the hospital bill officer and she had it fixed in ten minutes with the workman's comp folks. If you can't get out of it offer to pay the hospital $5 a month till it's paid off, they're happy to get paid anything at all and don't charge interest.

thanks for all the replys! ... the person I need to talk to at the hospital wont be in the office till next monday:rolleyes: so till then keep the ideas coming. .

Which state was it in? Nevada has State Industrial Insurance System, SIIS that takes care of all workman comp. claims. If you get injured, they are the ones that take care of everything. All you would have to do is contacted them and they would have the records it is finished. Does your state have something like this?

I was injured on the job and they paid for everything. My medical, between doctors, therapist, and rehab. took over 3 years. Two of the 50 or so doctors and specialist bills never made it to SIIS and was sent to collections. When I found out one simple call to SIIS and it was all done.

You are on the right path. Contact the person that does the billings in the Hospital. He or She will tell you what needs to be done.

Do you not pay taxes, or do the Dr's work for free there... ... or both?

Eric  :D

Interesting thing happened recently with the workman's comp system in Montana. The department was running extremely well taking in much more than they put out. As an incentive the directors of comp's wages reflected their success. Head of comp was making $220k a year, over $100k more than the next closest state employee including supreme court judges and the governor. Didn't go over well in a state running in a deficit, the comp director went into early retirement.

yes i pay taxes [on most of my income;) ] but don't you also? it may not be the best system, but it works...

sure. . that's why anybody with serious condition hauls their butt over the border and gets treatment in the lower 48

NOT trying to flame you

just never seen a socialist system work, and yours [medical care]is the perfect example. However ours has its troubles also

nickleinonen I didnt mean it as a sarcastic remark, or as a personal attack.

You made it sound as if the Govt provided it for FREE.

Eric:D

PS I know a girl who is a psychiatrist that is a Canadian citizen, that lives and works here. Guess that's why.

PSS I pay far too much for what I get in return.

not offended here... but the system works well enough for most situations. if it more serious, and if you have the money to do so, go anywhere but here [my neighbour's wife has some sort of cancer and just came back from 3 months in hongkong getting treatment there]. everyone gets their basic needs covered [but the waiting list is way too long].

i just prefer to stay as far away from hospitals/medical centers as possable usually [and especially now due to the SARS crap that is happening here right now.

Try the Labor Commission of Utah... since they seem to be the agency responsible for these issues in your state. If you haven't looked at any of the info available on their website it just might be worth the time... looks like they have a lot out there.

I know how it works in WI, but UT is out of my area of expertise.
