Off Roading Stuck!

Competition Our friend Jetpilot in Mopar Muscle...

I just receivied a phone call from Scott Dalgleish. He is with Gale Banks at the Bonnaville Salt Flats, Utah. Gale Banks, at 1:30 this afternoon (mountain time) set a new "WORLD RECORD" for Diesel Powered Vehicles (FIA and Track) at 182. 613 mph with a one-way record of 195. 788 mph. They plan to change injectors and diff gears and attempt another record run in the morning. Looking for 200 mph+ I'll post those results as they come in tomorrow. This was accomplished with a 5. 9 turbo diesel common rail injection engine. The name of the truck is "Sidewinder".

Yawn..... power isn't the problem out there, traction is. Its in a Dakota anyway, and the pockets are plenty deep.

I would give them the thumbs up if it was a full size truck, and had a reasonable $ budget.

It just makes it all the sweeter when a small outfit beats them!;)

Sour Pusses

This is what they built the truck for. At least they said they were going for a land speed record and did it, unlike some goobers I know that came up with a website, chat room, and an official song, but no truck.

We all know the deepest (not most modest) pockets win. I am surprise they fell short of their projected speed. Does this mean the mathematic equation fell short of real life? :D

They are supposed to run again today, maybe they will make it. Maybe it will be worse.

Its that average that messes things up, because one way is always faster than the other.
