Pretty dam interesting read... . turbocharger alone is bigger then out trucks. 90,000 horsepower delivered at 100 rpm... NICE!!!



Of course, just like the mighty cummins, it is an INLINE 6 for longevity and durability!!!!

The 90,000 hp is the 12 cylinder version. The largest I've seen was a Hapag-LLoyd ship with an inline 10 cylinder that was a 45,000 HP engine. Each cylinder was 4500 HP. It was a Sulzer engine as well. I was in the CG and did the engine room inspections on those ships. If the turbo goes down, they don't produce very much at all.
