Wow have I had a crazy day with this truck I just bought 2 weeks ago.

It is a 2004 305/555 6speed. It came with a DR Performance pressure box 90hp/180ftlb. I use the truck for 2 weeks with no issues. I took out the box 3-4 days ago because I sold it. I had read a few places where they where causing injector problems and stuff. I was looking for something a little more user friendly and bought a Edge with attitude this morning. I went to a friends house this morning right after buying it and we had it installed in about an hour. Woohoo. :) It was very easy to do. No problems encoutered so far.

We start the truck and check everyting twice, ready to go!Oo. Well, this is where things started to get crazy. When I backed out the shop my friend was yelling at me to hold up. I went back in side to find a puddle of diesel on the floor. It was leaking out of the hard line connecting the CP3 to the fuel rail! right at the nut on the bottom of the rail. I take it to the dealer for warranty. They tell me 500 miles before I bought the truck they had just replaced the CP3 with a new one and also one of the injectors. They said it needs a fuel rail and connecting line. The same tech who replaced the pump is working on it again. He said that he possibly damaged or missaligned or it just failed prematurely on a freak think. He asked about the edge. I told him and showed him the reciet that I had literally bought and installed the edge within the last two hours. They said a box could have caused this, but because he could have when he replaced the pump they where going to replace whatever was needed anyway. Wheew, I was sweating this one.

Just looking for some personal experience or ideas as well as share my experiences. Oh yeah, the previous owner said the truck had run since new with no issues of any kind, never been to the shop for anything since new except for oil changes, go figure.

You have some big cahonies taking that thing to the dealer with the edge installed... ... Man next time you might not be soo lucky... .

The Warranty is almost expered anyway so I figured I had nothing to loose. It has 91k on it already.

Kind of surprised to see 100 people looked at this and nobody had seen anything similiar.

The edge and most other electronic box do not command enough pressure that can cause a fuel leak as you explained. Infact I'd find it next to impossible for that to happen with any box. That's what the relief valve is for (unless is capped, even tho difficult).

His "EXCUSE" that a box "could" cause this is absurd. Factor in the the fact that the CP3 was just replaced, you have better chance of a shark biting off you leg in the middle of Kansas then any box "causing" the leak.

It's amazing how they let these guys get past mechanic's school with out making sure they have any sort of "logical thinking" abilities. Or, they teach them how to scare the crap out of you to make you "feel bad" for enhancing your truck.

Yeah, I don't see how a box could cause that either, especially that soon. Now if you had an injector fail on down the line, that would be more reasonable.
