I ran across a mechanical oil pressure guage (0-50#) in the garage and was wondering if it would work as a temporary fuel pressure guage?

it should work just fine. pressure gauges just measure the difference in pressure between atmosphere [on psig gauges] and what is coming into the gauge, be it fuel, oil, coolent pressure, brake line pressure air pressure. diesel is also a kind of oil... very light fuel oil. .

A mechanical oil pressure guage will work fine but the 50 psi range is less than ideal since with a 24 valve you will be only using the lower portion of the gauge. But what the heck, it's better than nothing and if it doesn't work out the hard part of installing the line will be out of the way. Price is right.

oil pressure guage for fuel pressure

Thanks - I didn't think there would be much if any differences except for the little oil can on the face.

Bill - I know it's not the best solution but it's paid for and no raises this year so I was looking for a cheap alternative - BTW the graduation from 0 to 20 is pretty good so I should be okay.

Thanks again - Marty (BV)
