I have a 2001. 5 ETC with the auto transmission. I would like to upgrade the power, and know that the transmission is a POS. I have heard that the 275's are ok for a stock transmission. Would most all stage 1 injectors be a safe bet? The ones I really want are the Bullydog stage 2 but I think a transmission upgrade would have to happen first right? There's only a difference of 20 hp between stage 1, and 2. So would it be safe to get the stage 2's or not?

I have read the debates about how you need a boost elbow to get the full power provided, and think about an EZ in the future. This would HAVE to be after the transmission I know.

Thank you for taking time to answer,

i wouldn't say POS

its just needs a little LOVE ;) ... stage 2 alone you could get by for a bit , but that will be the tip o' the iceberg as far as BOMBs are concerned ... i would at minimun get a new VB , though a GOOD TC brings it all together ... this will increase the line pressure to better hold the clutches applied . what is your intended usage of the truck ?

nice and easy

Thanks for anwsering.

I am not going to use the truck for any towing, just mileage, and picking up chicks. :D

I had another thought just after I posted this. Should I hold out for a M. A. D. ECM??? Thoughts? Maybe Marco could chime in here.

That's one nice thing about the Auto's it leaves one hand / arm free to hang on to them (Chicks)once you "Pick em Up".:D

I think you will like a PE-EZ or VA more than injectors. They improve the response more than injectors. And easy to install and remove in just a few minutes.

As for the transmission Install a Bombed Valve body and Torque convertor and "HANG ON" to your steering wheel with both hands! That alone really improves the driveability and fixes the weak links in a otherwise Good trans.

I suggest that you call Bill Kondaly and or DDT and have them send you some info.

do we still call them chicks???

Buddy, we call them what ever we want to with the windows up, and sexy any other time!:D

So the way to go is an EZ with a valve body huh? this will give a better boost in MPG then injectors with a 1/2" fuel line?

Still would like to know about the M. A. D. ECM. I think that this will be the way to go if I could ever get an idea of the price.

Let me know what yall think.

P. S. I think I posted this in the wrong forum:eek:, Admin, please help!

KWIKURT,

You have no idea how much fun it is, shifting gears with chicks sitting in the middle right beside you!!:D

I can't seem to get it out of fourth!!:D

Tx man, go for the EZ or VA first. Lots more bang for the buck as far as your butt can tell. The injectors will make the power package complete when you get a valvebody in. Have fun!

The only true chick magnets are those with the training wheels attached :p  :D

They also seem to be attracted to thick, dense, black smoke, but becareful, those chicks may or may not have all of their molars, if ya know what I mean  ;) .

WoWzY, Read my Sig. . I just wanted TX to feel OK with his SlushBox Equipped truck;) :p ;) :p

Any good Stick/Clutch Driver knows how to shift with his left hand so he can still "HangOn" with his right! :D

but you guys will never know...

Well you stick guys will never know how much MORE you can do with an auto.

Big, I know I'm only a kid to many on these forums, BUT I AINT THAT YOUNG!!!

As for the truck, I think I will wait to see what a M. A. D. ECM will do because it is something I want to do later on.

My plans are for this truck are, (in no order)

M. A. D. ECM

TST 10 level box

Bullydog stage 2 injectors

Piers HX35

DTT trany upgrades.

Think this will get the job done?

I am interested in doing the M. A. D. ECM also.

If I could find a price, I would know where to place it on my BOMB list.

Uh, go for whatever injectors make you happy! :)

Seriously, if you have a light foot, I say you could go with large injectors, but if your foot starts getting heavy, remember the injetors can toast your transmission.

A Box may be a better upgrade for you at this time, or untill you upgrade your VB&TC.

I am going to go with larger injectors on my ttruck right now, they will be 75+HP injectors, and I will not put a "box" on my truck for now, because of three things.

1. I am young.

2. I like diesel smoke.

3. I don't have anymore money for more, MORE, MORE!!!

MerrickNJr

P. S. Don't feel to young in the forums,, I am 18yrs old.

TDK, like U have have a new truck (1 month new, and 4100 miles already. ) I am trying to stick it out for the MAD ECM's, I think it will have the best overall control for power, and also have a mode when we are trying to pick up some MPG. Have you gotten gauges installed?? I just ordered mine yesterday. Are you going to be able to make it to the LSTDR meeting in Sept. We are going to try, like to put some faces with the names. . Good luck with the BOMBS. . (I'd go with the DDII's, but that's just my opinion, its not my trany. . ) Actually I think with just the trany mods, it will feel like it has more power because of how and when the power is applied. . I drove a friends Auto the other day with an added box. . woohooo... it sure pasted on the bug worse. . but I'm still going to hold out for the MAD ECM's. . Someone needs to drop them a line to see they are on the new ECM's... later. . sorry about the rambling...

Bryan

if your gonna go with those mods you better have a 91% or 93% converter in those mods that Bill is doing. and I think if you are stacking the MAD ecm and TST box you will want more than stage 2's... . HUH, BIG St.

the trick to an auto is getting the power to the street :D

you will always be at a handicap, to a stick truck.

come on, Stefan and Bill, let me have it..... I know this is your button :D :D

18, your just a young pup!

M,

18? Man you are younger then me. But not by much, I'm only 21.

Think I'll hold off on the injectors, and wait for the M. A. D. ECM. The thought of having on of these gives me goose bumps.

Gagues are in the works soon. SPA all the way!:D

As for the LSTDR thing, I don't really think I'll be able to make it out. I got school, and I'll have work, but anything is possible. Might have to see who's playing at Gruene Hall that weekend as a deciding factor. ;)
