2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Head lights go black

My truck had similar symptoms a few years back and it turned out to be a bad ignition switch at the steering column. All those systems go through there I guess.
 
I had a 98 once that did that and I found a connector near the passenger side battery that had come loose don't know if you model year would have that or not
 
So far so good, change the ignition switch that (dblack) said he had to change also on the steering column i did it 10 days ago. Made about 900 miles, and about 20-25 startup with no problem.
