I fixed the PO's mistake of using a #11 TST plate with a 3GSK on my truck. Put the #10 TST plate in, in the same place the #11 was (middle). I also put in the AFC spring kit (adjusted the way TST recommends for my truck) & boost elbow at the same time. The PO had broken the boost elbow that was supposed to be on it.

I checked the OV, and the spring needed to be stretched a tad.

All I can say is MAN !!! The truck seems to have almost twice as much power & acceleration now.

I'm now wondering how much of a difference sliding the plate all the way forward will make.

I also have a lot less smoke now during normal driving, and about the same upon hard acceleration. I know it's too early to tell (and it probably don't make sense), but it also 'seems' to have less blow by now.

Before, with the #11 plate, I couldn't get much over 18 psi boost, and only then with hard acceleration. Now, I see 20-21 almost right off the bat. and the egt's ain't really much higher than they were before.

I'm liking this a lot !!!

And now... . how much effect (if any) will adjusting the timing & valves have on power ? I'm sure the timing has slipped some

With my #11 plate I can get 32 lbs of boost (full fwd), just put my GSK in yesterday, same max boost but now can get acceleration to 3600 rpm. It did bounce off 1300 degrees at WOT 3rd gear tho. I'm going to pull a big 5er from Georgetown to Dallas on Wed, so I'll see how the gsk affects towing. I have read here a bunch of times that the #10 fueling curve was more tuned to the automatics.

Well, I am new to this oil burner stuff, and from what I have read, the #11 doesnt work as well with the #10, and TST recommended the #10 with the 3GSK specificaly for my truck, and the AFC if you have the 5 spd. It only cost me 50 bucks with exchange, and so far, it was worth much more. Ya ain't gonna get the power increase it seems to have made on a gasser for 50 bucks !!

My boost may have been more if I had had a boost elbow on it to restrict the wastegate when the #11 was on it.

I haven't really tried to see how high the boost would go yet. Don't want to hurt the new tires... ..... yet. Gotta put at least 100 miles on them first.

My turbo/wastegate is pure stock, so I can't comment on that. Joe D installed my #11 with the promise that if I wanted a change he would do it for free, but that was quite awhile ago. The #10 may be a better plate with the gsk, just thought I'd mention my perceptions. Prior to the gsk I dynoed 297/611. The only other mods besides an AFE filter is the timing is 15. 7* and the cat is guarding the stock muffler in the garage. Try pushing the plate forward anyway, you can always push it back.

I need to adjust my timing too.....

My turbo/wastegate is also stock, just the boost elbow to restrict how quickly the WG opens.
